When I went to college, I proudly bypassed the SEC football school down the road in favor of the Honors College at the University of Central Arkansas, where I majored in English and ran cross country. It turns out though that SEC schools also have great graduate programs in 18th-century literature, and I went on to get my MA at Tennessee and PhD at Mizzou. I then spent 3 years as a Brittain Fellow at Georgia Tech. After a stint in Cleveland, I’m thrilled to be back in the land of football and air conditioning. My academic interests range from 18th-century British literature and early American fiction to writing studies and equity pedagogy and, of course, writing centers. I’m a runner and a violist, and take ballet classes in my free time. I also adore mascots, and one of my fondest memories from Tech is of Buzz taking my phone out of my hand to snap a selfie when I went to see my UCA Sugar Bears play our Lady Jackets in basketball.
