Natalie Thompson is a Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow. She received her Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Virginia in 2024. Natalie’s research focuses on space, place, and theories of home in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British fiction. She has worked in writing centers for more than ten years. As a lifelong procrastinator, she loves helping people get “unstuck” in their writing process.
Natalie teaches ENGL 1101 here at Georgia Tech. In addition to expertise in literature and first-year writing, she has experience consulting on scientific writing, especially journal articles in the engineering and computer science fields, graduate school application essays, and fellowship applications (particularly the NSF GRFP). Natalie also has experience helping graduate students articulate their teaching philosophy in teaching statements and other job documents.
Hailing from Austin, Texas, Natalie is always game for an impromptu debate regarding the merits and definition of a “breakfast taco.”
