About TechWrites
TechWrites is a year-long initiative designed to enhance the support for student writing across the Georgia Tech campus. In addition to constructing a picture of the university's writing culture, TechWrites also seeks to empower instructional faculty with tools and strategies to elevate student writing across Georgia Tech’s diverse learning environments. Funded by Provost’s Teaching and Learning Grant and with the support of the Center for Teaching and Learning and the Office of Undergraduate Education, TechWrites programming includes a series of workshops and speakers. The series also features the Techwrites Institute, two intensive one-day professional development experiences that assist with integrating advanced writing strategies into course planning across disciplines.
Events

TechWrites Course Enhancement Institute
The TechWrites Course Enhancement Institute is an intensive one-day professional development experience that supports integrating advanced writing strategies into course planning across disciplines. The institutes prepare forward-looking faculty to develop their next semester courses and substantially include writing within their designs.

"Reading Day Workshop: Get Better Student Writing Via Assignment Design"
When: Wednesday, Dec. 4, 9 am - 3 pm Where: Naugle Communication Center, Clough 447
Join us on Reading Day (December 4) for a hands-on workshop aimed at improving student writing by redesigning a major writing assignment you plan to include in a Spring 2025 course. This TechWrites Course Assignment Enhancement Institute will guide you through best practices in assignment design for writing projects and offer time and support to redesign one of your key writing assignments. Get a head start on spring teaching with support from Writing and Communication Faculty leaders! A copy of Engaging Ideas: The Professor’s Guide to Integrating Writing, Critical Thinking, and Active Learning and lunch will be provided to each participant.
*Space is highly limited, and applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis. Open to all Georgia Tech Community members who include writing assignments in undergraduate classes, including TAs, postdocs, and faculty (tenure-track and non-tenure-track).
