Ben Sandman is a teacher and writer whose fiction has been published in Story, Joyland, and Stirring, among others, and whose criticism has appeared in The Nation, The New Republic, and Los Angeles Review of Books. He holds an MFA in fiction from Oregon State University and a PhD in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of Cincinnati. 

As a Brittain Fellow at Georgia Tech, he teaches first-year writing classes. He has also taught classes on fiction writing, multi genre creative writing, and humor writing. 

As a consultant in the NWCC, Ben especially enjoys working on personal statements, graduate and fellowship applications, and research articles.
